Many #shipowners and other key stakeholders of the #maritimeindustry believe that ammonia can play a pivotal role in the decarbonisation of the maritime industry to reach net-zero emissions by #IMO2050.
As a good example, we see the alliance that companies Woodside Energy together with Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation and Marubeni Corporation have signed an agreement to establish a clean fuel ammonia supply chain. At the same time, Finland’s Wärtsilä is testing ammonia in a marine combustion engine in Stord, Norway. Also, MAN Energy Solutions is co-developing a solution with Korean shipbuilder Samsung).
Reaching #carbonneutrality by 2050 is a priority.
